Katie Mitsch: Katie attended Yorktown High School and graduated in 2005. She swam for J. Agnew (Currently Purdue University Assistant Men’s Swimming Coach) during her prep career and qualified for the IHSAA State meet all four years. She was also captain of her Tiger squad her junior and senior years of high school. Katie went on to swim for Indiana University for two years under head coach Ray Looze. She was part of the 2007 Big Ten Championship team. She then decided to work for the Hoosiers as a manager for the Men’s and Women’s swim programs during their 2007-2009 seasons. She was able to travel to both Men’s and Women’s NCAA championships and Olympic Trials in 2008. Katie earned her undergraduate degree from IU in 2008, and went into a graduate program at IU to earn her teaching license, completing the program in May 2009. She is currently teaching English at South. Katie has worked as a swim coach in the Bloomington area for the past three years at various age levels and is currently the head age-group coach of IU Club Paradise. She also served as head counselor at the IU Swim Camp in the summer of 2009. Most importantly, she is thrilled to be in her first year at South as both a teacher and the head swim coach of the girls’ swimming and diving program! Go Panthers!.

Kyle Ruth : Kyle attended Yorktown High School where he swam for four years.  He was the 2003 Indiana High School State Champion in the 50 free, runner-up in the 200 free relay, and 3rd in the 100 fly.  Kyle now attends IU and plans to graduate this year.  He swam his first year at IU and was Second Team All Big Ten.  After some injuries and time away from the sport, Kyle is back and competing for CCiST.  He qualified for Short Course Nationals in November and hopes to earn an Olympic Trial Cut, so he can compete at the Olympic Trials in 2008.
